Thaw the short ribs to room temperature, pat them dry, and season with pepper and salt.

Preheat the air fryer to 390°F (200°C) for 5 minutes. Place the seasoned short ribs in the fryer and cook at 390°F (200°C) for 7 minutes, then flip and cook for another 2 minutes at the same temperature. Let the residual heat draw out and lock in the juices, resulting in a surface that's slightly charred while the inside remains tender and juicy.
