Margarita's Black Beans with a Sonoran Touch

These delicious black beans are a favorite with my kids. They're so versatile for side dishes, tacos, sandwiches, enfrijoladas, as a sauce or dressing, and even for bean soup.
Margarita's Black Beans with a Sonoran Touch
These delicious black beans are a favorite with my kids. They're so versatile for side dishes, tacos, sandwiches, enfrijoladas, as a sauce or dressing, and even for bean soup.
Steps
- 1
Rinse and ensure the beans are clean to avoid any dental fractures.
- 2
Cook them in a slow cooker for 4 hours on low, adding the Sonoran touch (chipotle chili).
- 3
After about 3 hours, add salt to taste, and check later if more is needed.
- 4
Once done, mash them and they're ready to serve as a side dish.
- 5
Or blend them into a bean sauce for dressing on Veracruz-style eggs, enfrijoladas, etc.
- 6
For bean soup: after blending, add milk until you reach the desired thickness.
- 7
Enjoy your meal!
