My mother some times cook Mitha Dali ("Sweet Dal"), since we all are not fond of dal so much therefore I always try to make different and innovative dishes based on dal. Today I have shared her recipe, wherein various ingredients such as ginger, cumin seeds, sugar, and ghee are used. You may alternatively add jaggery instead of sugar. This is my favourite dal, and we all love this dal very much.

  1. 1 cuptoor dal / Arhar dal
  2. 1 tbspghee
  3. 1 tspcumin seeds
  4. 1 tspginger paste
  5. 2 cupwater
  6. 1 tspturmeric powder
  7. 2 tbspsugar/jaggery
  8. to tasteSalt

Steps

18 minutes
  1. 1

    Pressure cook the dal with ginger paste, cumin seeds, salt to taste, ghee, turmeric powder for 10 minutes.

    Then release the steam add sugar and stir it continuously cook for 1 minute.
