Grilled Kofta (Egyptian-Style) on a Budget – Same Great Taste

Steps
- 1
Grate the onion and mix it with all the spices and baking powder. Stir well.
- 2
Add the beef and knead thoroughly until well combined.
- 3
Shape the kofta into sausage-like logs using the back of a knife or the handle of a spoon.
- 4
Grease a baking dish with beef fat or corn oil. Arrange the kofta in the dish and refrigerate for 1 hour.
- 5
After chilling, place the dish over high heat on the stovetop for 5 minutes. Add a little water, cover, and reduce the heat to low. Cook until the kofta is done.
- 6
Uncover and turn the kofta until browned. Arrange on a serving plate over a bed of parsley.
- 7
This takes no more than 10 minutes to cook. You can add a hot chili pepper if you like.
- 8
You can also grill the kofta on an electric grill. For best results, grate a tomato, add a little salt and pepper, and rub your hands with this mixture while shaping the kofta to keep it moist on the grill.
