Ingredients

  1. 3/4 cupurad dal / split black gram
  2. 1/3 cupChana dal / split bengal gram
  3. 1/2 cupdesi chana/desi chick peas
  4. 1 pc.Tej patta / bay leaf
  5. 1big onion
  6. 2tomatoes
  7. 1tsp.cumin seeds
  8. 2-3 pc.Cloves
  9. 2dry red chilli
  10. to tasteSalt
  11. 1 tbspginger chilli garlic paste
  12. 1 tspred chilli powder
  13. 1 tspgaram masala
  14. 1 tsp.Asofoetida
  15. 1/2 tsp.Turmeric powder
  16. 1 tbsp.Corriender
  17. Pinchsoda
  18. 2 tbspghee
  19. 1 tsp.Oil

Steps

  1. 1

    Soak chana for 7-8 hrs. Soak dal for 1/2hr. Boil dal chana add salt and soda. Make 5-6 whistle.

    Heat ghee in a pan add tej patta cinnamon cloves dry red chilli crackle cumin seeds. Chopped onion and saute add ginger chilli garlic paste. Chopped tomatoes salt and saute properly.

    Now add boil dal chana mixture add 1 cup water garam masala turmeric powder stir well and cover the lid. Cook for 5-7min.

    Now make tadka :Heat ghee asafoetida dry chilli red chilli powder sprinkle chopped coriander on dal and pour tadka. Serve hot with rice chapati.
