Another if-you-can't-get-hold-of-it recipe, and I promise, it tastes just like the real thing (if not even better!). Any beans will do, but if you want it to look like the real thing I recommend using haricot beans.

Ingredients

  1. 300 mlwater
  2. 5 tbspketchup
  3. 2 1/2 tbspsugar
  4. 2 1/2 tbsptomato puré
  5. 1 tspworcestershire sauce
  6. 1 tbspwhite wine vinegar
  7. 1/2 tsponion granules
  8. 1/2 tspsalt
  9. 1 pinchblack pepper
  10. 2 tinsbeans (see note)
  11. 1/2 tbspcorn flour + 1 tbsp water

Cooking Instructions

    Mix all the ingredients except beans and cornflour in a saucepan. Simmer for 20 minutes and add the beans.

    Mix cornflour and water and add to the beans while stiring. Simmer for another couple of minutes and serve!

    Note: dried beans works just as well as tinned, if not even better! Just soak and boil them according to the instructions on the pack, then use about 400 grams of ready boiled beans for this recipe.
