Have you ever head of a halwa made with banana? Here's a traditional dessert recipe from the Kerala cuisine, which is cooked on special occasions and festivals and will make your mouth water. Mildly sweet and chewy, this sweet dish is prepared using banana, ghee, green cardamom powder, and last but not the least sugar. Ingredients

makes 5-6 piece
  1. 3Banana
  2. 1/2 cupsugar
  3. 1/2 teaspoonCardamom powder
  4. 3 tablespoonghee

Cooking Instructions

    To prepare this delicious banana halwa, peel the bananas cut it into small pieces and grind it in a mixer without adding water

  2. 2

    Put a pan on medium flame and heat ghee in it. When the ghee is melted, add the banana paste and reduce the flame to low.

    Stir the banana paste in ghee and cook for about 15 minutes or until they become light brown in colour. Keep stirring the bananas to avoid sticking at the bottom.

    After 15 minutes, add sugar to the pan and stir well to dissolve the sugar completely and cook for another 15 minutes. Then add cardamom powder and stir once again for a few seconds and remove the pan from the burner.

    Transfer the halwa to a serving bowl and allow the mixture to cool down at room temperature. Banana halwa is ready, cut thick slices and serve!
