Ingredients

40 minutes
7-8 uttapams
  1. 2 cupsQuaker oats
  2. 1 cuprava
  3. 1 cupcurd (sour preferably)
  4. to tasteSalt
  5. 1/2 tspbaking soda
  6. ForVegetables topping:
  7. 1onion finely chopped
  8. 1small capsicum chopped in small pieces
  9. 1 cupcabbage chopped
  10. 1carrot grated
  11. 1 inchginger grated
  12. 2 tbspcoriander leaves finely chopped
  13. 5-6curry leaves chopped
  14. 1green chilli finely chopped
  15. ForDry spices:
  16. 1 tspBlack pepper powder
  17. 1 tspBlack salt
  18. As per taste Chat masala

Cooking Instructions

    Grind oats to make it like a powder.

    Now, take oats powder, rava, curd and salt in a mixing bowl. Mix well. Gradually add water to make a medium thick batter. Keep it aside for 30-40 minutes. By the time we will chop all the vegetables.

    After 30 minutes, we look into the batter. If required add little more water to bring it into uttapam batter consistency. Then add baking saoda and mix well.

    Now, heat a tawa, apply some oil on the tawa to make it smooth. Then pour batter on the tawa with the help of a ladle. When it spreads, top up the chopped vegetables in small quantities along with Coriander leaves, curry leaves, ginger and green chillies. Sprinkle some salt. Apply oil on the corners and on the top of uttapam. Flip and roast uttapam from the other side till all the vegetables are cooked applying oil.

    Once done with roasting uttapam from both sides, sprinkle black pepper powder, chat masala, and black salt on the top. Then serve with chutney or sauce.
