Ingredients

  1. 1 cupToor dal
  2. 2 cupsRice
  3. 1/2 tspTurmeric powder
  4. to tasteSalt
  5. 1/2 tspCumin seeds
  6. 1Red dry chilli
  7. 1/2 tspRed chilli powder
  8. 1/2 tspCoriander powder
  9. pinchAsafoetida powder
  10. 2 tspGhee /oil for tadka
  11. 1 tspMustard seeds
  12. 1 tspAmchoor (dry mango)powder

Cooking Instructions

    For rice: Soak rice for 20 min minimum and then wash nicely so that all starch will come out.

    Cook it in rice cooker,normal pressure cooker or open Wessel as per your choice.

    Once done keep aside.

    For Dal : sak dal.for 30.min and wash nicely

  5. 5

    After 30 min put it in a pressure cooker with 1 1/2 cup of water and cook till 4 whistle.

    Once done with the pressure to ve released.

    Open cooker and churn the dal.witj whisk so that it will not separate from water.

    Lets prepare tadka: add ghee or refined oil in a tadka pan

    Once hot add dry chilli whole, cumin seed,mustard seeds and asafoetida.

    Once aroma starts coming switch off gas, add dry chilli powder, lil coriander and add to dal cooker immediately.

    Mix nicely. Add Amchoor/dry mango powder if you want a lil tangy taste as we have not added tomatoes.

    Enjoy Your dal is ready.

    Serve in a plate with Onion, rice and achaar.
