Kashmeri Chai / Baltistani Chai ☕

#Chai
There is a slight difference between kashmeri and balti tea. Basically I am from Baltistani family. So we make this tea salty. And instead of dry fruits we take this tea with butter. Now in winters it is an essential part of our every meal whether its a breakfast, Lunch or dinner. Here I m going to make kashmeri tea. I wana share a tip for beautiful color of this tea.
#Tip1. Use 1 pinch of red food color for beautiful pinkish tea. ;)
#Tip2. Beat more often until you get a redish kehwa.
#Tip3. When water dries pour cold water in kehwa and beat again And again.

Cooking Instructions
- 1
Pour water in a sauce pan. Add cinnamon, cardamom, star anise and green tea.
- 2
Boil the mixture. When it remains half pour cold water in the pan and beat the kehwa.
- 3
We need to beat more and more to get reddish kehwa. For this add cold water again and again in the kehwa.
- 4
When you are done with it strain the kehwa.
- 5
In another degchi take 1 pouch milk add crushed dry fruits (I take almonds and pistachio), green cardamom powder and sugar and give it a boil.
- 6
Pour the kehwa in the milk and give it a boil.
- 7
Just have a look on your tea if you want more pinkish color then add 1 pinch red food color and it is optional.
- 8
Pour the tea in a cup and enjoy.

Basic Chai Basic Chai
I went to India for a Missions trip with my church. It was a life-changing experience for sure. That is where I gained appreciation for Indian culture. When we were traveling, chai stalls filled every corner like Starbucks. We took a pit stop to try a cup, and let me tell you, they were TINY! Like shot glasses. I guess you can say it’s like a shot of espresso.I loved it so much, I wanted to replicate it at home. This version is similar to that in India, where they only use few ingredients or with whatever spice they had. Simple enough to make a batch at home :), reminding me to make do with what we have; don’t take anything for granted ❤️ Cheryl -

Chai Kahwa: For Colds Chai Kahwa: For Colds
At my home in India, we make this beverage when someone has a cold, or is feeling ill due to cold weather. We don't have it every day, but the spices and honey warm your body and give you energy. I got some almond powder, so I tried making it.●If you don't have almond flour for baking, grind up almonds in a food processor or in a mortar.●If you don't want tea, just omit the tea leaves. You can use green tea instead of black tea too.●You can add 1 whole clove instead of powdered cloves. Recipe by Plabar cookpad.japan -
