Ingredients

  1. 2 cupsall purpose flour
  2. 1 tspsalt
  3. 2 tspyeast
  4. 1and 1/3 warm water
  5. Extra flour

    Gather all your ingredients

    In a clean bowl place your flour, yeast and add salt...mix properly before making a well

  3. 3

    Pour in water into the well and start mixing it to form a dough

  4. 4

    If it's sticky add a handful of flour until its no longer sticky

    Knead for another 5 minutes and let it sit in the center of the bowl
    Apply oil onto the bowl and now cover your dough will cling film or wet kitchen towel

    Let it sit in a warm place for one hour to double in size

    After an hour punch the dough to release air...then cut into three stripes and start braiding

    Place in a loaf tin and brush with oil..then cover with a wet kitchen towel or cling film and let it sit for 30 minutes

    Preheat oven for 10 minutes

    Before placing the loaf tin into the oven you'll need one egg and 1 tbsp of water to make egg wash which you'll brush onto the dough...it's to get that golden appearance

    Bake for 30 minutes at 180degrees

    Let it cool before cutting and serving
