Cooking Instructions

Soak chana dal in water for 4 - 5 hours. In same water let it cook on gas. It take approx. Half hour

Press chana dal in water with two fingers. If it is pressed easily then dal is cooked. Take strainer and separate dal & water. That water is known as cut. It is used to make dal.

Then add jaggery, sugar in cooked dal,mix well & keep on gas to mix dal with jaggery. After some time whole mixture start becoming thick. Then turn off gas and put that mixture in 'puran yatra' for churning. You may use mixer here.

Our puran is ready. Cool it completely and add cardamom & nutmeg powder.

For covering knead a soft dough of maida & wheat flour. With water and oil you have to smash dough with your hands for 5 to 10 minutes till it becomes soft and turn shiny.keep aside dough for 3 hours.

Then make round balls of puran. Take small portion of dough in your hand spread it. Then put puran ball in that dough and cover it from all the sides.

Then roll the puran poli with light hand without putting pressure on it.put on tawa and fry it from both the sides.

Puran poli is ready to serve with desi ghee. It is also served with milk.
