Ingredients

15 minutes
4 to 5 persons
  1. 400 gmsmangoes or 2 large alphonso mangoes or 3 to 4 kesar mango
  2. 1/2 tspcardamom or elaichi powder
  3. 1 pinchsaffron strands (kesar optional)
  4. as per tasteSugar or powdered jaggery(gud) optional
  5. 1/4 tspdry ginger powder (saunth) optional
  6. As neededWater or milk (optional)

Cooking Instructions

    Rinse the alphonso mangoes. Then peel and chop them

  2. 2

    In a blender, add the chopped mango pieces and blend

  3. 3

    Add cardomom powder and crushed saffron strands.

  4. 4

    Stir very well. To thin down aamras, you can add some sugar or some milk or water.

    Pour in small bowls and chill in the refrigerator.

  6. 6

    Serve aamras with puri. You can also serve with chapatis.

    You can even add your choice of dry fruits like cashews and almonds. If you intend to add cashew nuts, then fry them till golden brown & then mix it with aamras.

    Once done, serve chilled with hot puris or simply like a dessert. Enjoy!!!!
