Cooking Instructions

10 mins
  1. 1

Place the quail eggs in a pot, and cover with water. Set the heat to high, and once the water begins to simmer, roll the eggs around in the pot with cooking chopsticks.

  2. 2

Rolling them around will move the yolk into the center of the egg. Bring the water to a boil, boil for 3 minutes, then turn off the heat. Leave the eggs in the water for 3 minutes, then rinse in cold water.

  3. 3

Once the eggs have cooled, place them in a soup bowl, and use another soup bowl to make a lid.

  4. 4

Gently shake the eggs in the soup bowls. Take care not to be too rough. Slightly crack the surface of the eggs about 20 times.

  5. 5

Once cracks have formed, place the eggs in water. Water will seep into the space between the eggs and their thin skin, making them easy to peel.

  6. 6

The shell will come off like this. The thin skin of the quail eggs is quite firm, so they are easy to peel.

  7. 7

Now the eggs are cleanly peeled. Remove any thin skin stuck to the eggs in the water.

  8. 8

    Done.

Thank you for the "trick" of shaking the eggs in a soup bowl to make peeling easier.
