Ingredients

30 minutes
4 persons
  1. 3/4 cup rice rava
  2. 1/4 cup split moong dal
  3. 3 cupshot water
  4. For tempering
  5. 50 mloil
  6. 1 tspmustard seeds
  7. 1 tspcumin seeds
  8. 1/2 tspgota urad dal
  9. 2-3fresh green chillies
  10. leavesFew curry
  11. 1 tbspgrated ginger
  12. 1medium size onion (sliced)
  13. 1-2dry red chilies
  14. (if you like spicier)
  15. as per tasteSalt to taste
  16. 1 tspsambar masala
  17. leavesFinely chopped coriander

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    In a pan, heat oil. Splutter mustard seeds, cumin seeds, add gota urad dal. Now add curry leaves, onion, grated ginger, fresh green chillies. Saute for sometime.

    As the onion are little sauteed, add rice rava and saute for sometime. Next add split moong dal.

    Mix well and continue sauteing. Add salt and sambar masala. Mix and continue sauteing.

    Side by side heat water. Add sauteed rice rava mixture.
    Let it boil together in the cooker.

    Add finely chopped coriander leaves. Put the lid. Pressure cook at slow to medium flame, for 1 whistle.
    Let it cool and release pressure.

    Open lid and let it settle for sometime. Then fluff up.
    Arisi upma (rice rava upma) is ready to serve hot...
    Serve with any chutney, sambar.

    This ARISI UPMA... contains both rice and dal and has awesome flavour of spices...relish by recreating it...
