Scallops Rice Bowl with Garlic Butter & Soy Sauce

Hiroko Liston @hirokoliston
I have cooked Scallops in different flavours, but my absolute favourite flavour for sure is ‘Garlic Butter and Soy Sauce’. This simple combination does a magic, and it is also very versatile. You can add extra ingredients to it, for example, you may wish to add Chilli.
Cooking Instructions
- 1
Melt Butter in a frying pan over medium low heat, add Garlic and cook until aromatic and slightly browned.
- 2
Add Scallops and cook until both sides are lightly browned. Make a room in the frying pan, add Green Vegetable, and cook until softened. Add Mirin & Soy Sauce, and mix to combine.
- 3
Half fill a bowl with warm Cooked Rice, scatter Toasted Nori pieces, cover with Scallops and Vegetable with the sauce. Sprinkle with Spring Onion and Toasted Sesame Seeds, and enjoy.

Negitoro Don with Amazing Sauce Negitoro Don with Amazing Sauce
The sauce my mother tops on her negitoro don is delicious, so I asked her to teach it to me. I adjusted the amounts a little bit.I've listed an easy to make amount for the sauce, which is about 3 servings' worth. If you don't have a small pan, double the amount. Use the leftover sauce for natto, tofu or drizzled in miso soup. You could also use it to season stir-fries and simmered dishes. I recommend using it for an enoki mushroom stir fry.Avoid reducing the sauce. Recipe by Asakopo cookpad.japan -

Steamed Chinese Cabbage and Scallops with Garlic Butter Soy Sauce Steamed Chinese Cabbage and Scallops with Garlic Butter Soy Sauce
I was looking for a new way to eat Chinese cabbage. That's when I combined it with scallops, which actually tasted great!I used fresh scallops. You only need to steam them for a short time. Since the Chinese cabbages release a lot of moisture, I think you'd feel this dish is lightly flavored. If this is the case, try adding some soy sauce to suit your taste. Vegetarian Dan Dan Noodles with Vegetarian Miso-Meat Sauce Vegetarian Dan Dan Noodles with Vegetarian Miso-Meat Sauce
Vegetarians want to eat dan dan noodles too. Since that's impossible if you're dining out, I made it myself.Use whatever kinds of noodles you like. The leafy green vegetable shown in the picture is kale. If you're going to add sesame oil, I think just a very small amount is fine. If you don't have soy milk, you can substitute peanut butter dissolved in hot water. If you only have the chunky type, it might be best to use a blender to smooth it out. For 1 serving. The other day, I ate a simple Avocado Salad with my ‘Garlic Sesame Dressing’, and the Avocado was so yummy with the dressing. Today I made it into a rice bowl. I reduced the amount of Vinegar for this rice bowl. It was a very simply dish, but very filling and nutritious. You can add some salad vegetable such as Lettuce. Hiroko Liston
