Ingredients

  1. 200 gred split lentil, rinsed (no need to soak)
  2. 200 gsmoked ham (or smoked bacon)
  3. 1red onion chopped
  4. 3 clovesgarlic
  5. 1chilli pepper chopped
  6. 1 tsppaprika powder
  7. 1 handfulfreshly chopped parsley
  8. chopped chive
  9. salt & pepper
  10. 3 tbsoil
  11. 150 mlsour cream
  12. 1 tbsflour
  13. 1 tbsmustard
  14. 2bay leaf

    In a 2-3 liter saucepan saute onion and garlic in oil until translucent, adding a spoonful of water to soften it. Remove from heat and sprinkle with paprika. Cut the smoked ham into small pieces and mix in with onion, stir and fry for a minute. Rinse lentil and combine with onion and ham mixture.

    Pour approximately 1.5- 2 liter of vegetable stock (or water), drop 2 bay leaves, and a chilli pepper, salt to taste. Cover and simmer until soft (about 15 minutes). Mix sour cream with flour, mustard and stir it into the cooked soup, let it boil for 1/2 minute. Garnish with with chopped chives and parsley. Enjoy.
