
Cooking Instructions

Place the following into a pot (Dutch Oven) : sausage, ground beef, 1/2 cup onion and 2 chopped cloves of garlic.

Brown together until the pink is gone in the meat.
You can remove the grease when done, or you can keep it in the pot. - 3
Now add the following: crushed tomatoes, tomato sauces, tomato paste and 1/2 cup water. gently stir into the meat mixture.

Now add 2 T white sugar, 1 tsp Basil, 1 T parsley, 1 tsp salt, 1 tsp Italian seasoning and 1/2 tsp black pepper. Gently stir these into the sauce mixture.

Let simmer for about 1 hour covered on low heat.

Now soak 15 lasagna noodles into hot tap water for 15 minutes

While the noodles are soaking,mix the following into a medium sized bowl : Ricotta cheese, 1/2 tsp nutmeg,1 egg,1 T parsley

Time to build the Lasagna!!!

Use a 9x13 baking pan. spread 2 cup of the sauce onto bottom of the baking pan

Remove the noodles from the water. shake water off noodles

Place 5 noodles across the layer of sauce in the pan

Spread half the ricotta mixture onto the noodles

Spread 1/2 of the mozzarella cheese over the ricotta cheese (save a little mozzarella cheese for the top)

Sprinkle 1/2 the parmesan cheese over the mozzarella cheese

Now put 2 more cup of the meat sauce on top of the cheese layer (save a little for top layer of noodles)

Place 5 more noodle across the sauce

Spread remaining ricotta cheese mixture on top, then 3/4 cup of the mozzarella cheese on top of that, following with 1/2 cup parmesan cheese

Add 5 more noodles, put some sauce on top of them with a little bit of the mozzarella cheese

Cover with aluminum foil and place into a pre heated over of 350 degrees
