A crispy and popular Indian street food recipe comes in both gravy and dry versions and is often served with fried rice. This style of manchuria is the best alternative to the popular gobhi or paneer manchurian with an economical twist.

Ingredients

  1. for manchurian ball:
  2. 3 cupcabbage (finely chopped)
  3. 1/2 cupfinely chopped onion
  4. 2 Tbspchopped spring onion
  5. 1 Tspginger garlic paste
  6. 1/2 Tsppepper powder
  7. 1 Tspgreen chilli sauce
  8. 1 Tspred chilli sauce
  9. 1 Tsptomato sauce
  10. 1 Tspsoya sauce
  11. 1/2 cupmaida
  12. 3 tbspcorn flour
  13. As requiredSalt to taste
  14. as requiredOil for frying
  15. for manchurian sauce:
  16. 2 Tbspoil
  17. 1/2 cupchopped onion
  18. 1 tbspspring onion (chopped)
  19. 1green chilli (chopped)
  20. 1 Tspchopped garlic
  21. 1/4 cupchopped cabbage
  22. 1/4 cupchopped capsicum
  23. 1 Tspsoya sauce
  24. 1 Tspchilli sauce
  25. 1 Tsptomato sauce
  26. 1 Tspvinegar
  27. 1 Tbspcorn flour
  28. as requiredSalt to taste
  29. 2 Tbspspring onion

Cooking Instructions

    Firstly, grate the cabbage leaves finely so that it easily mixes with the maida and corn flour mixture.

    Firstly, in a large bowl take chopped cabbage add chopped onion, spring onion and ginger garlic paste.

    Now add paper powder, green chilli and red chilli sauce.

    Add tomato sauce and soya sauce.

  5. 5

    Now add maida and corn flour. Mix well forming a dough. do not add any extra water, the water from the cabbage is sufficient for binding.

    Now grease the hand with oil and prepare a small ball-sized ball. Deep fry in hot oil keeping the flame on medium. Stir occasionally, until the manchurian balls turn golden brown and crisp.

    To prepare the manchurian sauce, heat oil. add chopped onion, chilli,  garlic, spring onion and stir fry on high flame.

    Add chopped cabbage and capsicum.

    Add soya sauce, chilli sauce and tomato sauce.

    Add vinegar. Stir and mix well until all the sauces are well combined.

    Now prepare the corn flour slurry, by mixing 1 tbsp corn flour in ¼ cup water. Pour corn flour slurry and mix well. Cook until the sauce turns glossy.

    Add in fried cabbage ball, spring onion and mix gently coating the sauce uniformly.

    Finally enjoy the Cabbage Manchurian Dry.
