Virgin Mojito always my favourite since long as I believe this is the most flavourful beverage to have which can be mixed with any other drinks of your choice. Either it can be hard drink or soft drink, it just doubles the taste of the drink. There are many variations to try with this beverage. So, why not to try this summer special Virgin Mojito to have that extra flavours in the drink. The only thing we need to take care while making mojito is the ratio of the ingredients. Adjust it as per your preference which is why I made it's ingredients separately so that if something will be less or missed out, it can be adjusted by putting more.
Moreover, the prepared ingredients can be stored to use for later purposes.
Mint is the main highlight of the recipe which should be fresh.
Made Virgin Mojito in 3 steps.
Firstly made Ginger Ale simply by putting grated ginger in boling water then cooling it.
Then, Mint Sugar Syrup by putting Mint leaves along with sugar in a boiling water and allowing it to cool.
And finally, assembled the Virgin Mojito with the prepared ingredients, some ice cubes and then garnished it with Lemon slices and Mint Leaves.

Cooking Instructions

30 minutes
  1. 1

Take all ingredients together to make Virgin Mojito. First, take ingredients to make ginger ale. Grate ginger peices with the help of fine grater.

  2. 2

Pour 1 cup of water in a saucepan and bring it to boil. Add grated ginger to the boiling water.

  3. 3

Reduce heat to low medium and let the ginger sit in the water for about 5 minutes. Then, remove from heat and allow to rest for 15 to 20 minutes.

  4. 4

Strain water with the help of strainer. Discard grated ginger residue and keep aside the ginger water to cool down or refrigrate.
Note - 1 to 2 tablespoons of ginger ale is used in this recipe.
    - Rest can be stored in refrigerator to mix in other beverages.
Tip - You may add sugar while making Ginger Ale.
    - It is optional to add Ginger Ale in Mojito, I preferred it to enhance the taste as well as to substitute soda water.

  5. 5

In a saucepan pour 1 cup of water and bring it to boil over medium heat. Add sugar and stir until the sugar dissolves in the water.

  6. 6

When the water begins to boil rapidly, add mint and stir in between. Simmer gently for 10 minutes. The mixture will thicken slightly to a syrup texture.

  7. 7

Remove from heat. Cover until the syrup cools. The longer you leave it, the stronger the Mint flavour will be infused in the syrup.
Strain water by strainer.Discard Mint leaves residue and keep aside syrup water to cool down or refrigrate.
Tip: Optional to add sugar syrup in mojito, you may add powdered sugar instead. I preferred it as the Mint water further adds flavor to the mojito and sugar syrup can be used in other recipes as well as it dissolves evenly in the drink.

  8. 8

Take prepared ingredients together along with other ingredients to finally assemble Virgin Mojito.Take long nice fancy glasses of your choice. Put 1 to 2 lemon slices and 3 to 4 mint leaves in the glass. Muddle them together with a help of muddler or rolling pin just for few seconds until the mint or lemon release their narural aroma or flavours.
Tip: Do not crush or over muddle mint leaves as they turn bitter in flavour.

  9. 9

Add prepared sugar Mint syrup, lemon juice, and ginger ale in the glass.
Tip: Optional to add sugar syrup, you may use any other sweetner like honey to have a healthier version of it.

  10. 10

Add some cold water. Put some more lemon slices and add ice cubes.Give it a mix.
Tip: Adding water is optional. You may add any other drink.

  11. 11

While serving, coat the edges of the glass with powdered sugar Garnish Mojito with fresh mint stems at the top and lemon slice on the edge of glass.
Virgin Mojito is ready to sip in!🍸
    Serve Chilled.
