Dad's Ginger Chicken

Ingredients

4 servings
  1. 2 tspolive oil
  2. 3 clovegarlic, minced
  3. 1 lbskinless, boneless chicken breast halves, cut into bite sizes
  4. 1 tspAsian fish sauce
  5. 3 tbspoyster sauce
  6. 1 1/2 tbspsugar
  7. 1/2 tspred chile paste, or to taste
  8. 1 tbspchicken bouillon
  9. 1/4 cupfresh ginger roots, julienned
  10. 3/4 cupmushrooms, sliced
  11. 1/2 cupwater
  12. 1 tbspcornstarch
  13. 1/2 tspblack pepper
  14. 2 tbspfresh cilantro leaves, chopped

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Heat the oil in a wok or large skillet over medium-high heat. Stir in the garlic and chicken; cook for 2 minutes.

    Add the fish sauce, oyster sauce, sugar, chili paste, chicken bouillon and ginger. Cook and stir until the chicken is no longer pink, about 3 minutes. Add mushrooms to the chicken mixture.

    Pour in the cornstarch and stir until it thickens.

    Season with black pepper and sprinkle with cilantro leaves to garnish.

    Serve with Jasmine rice.
