Ingredients

  1. Clams casino
  2. 12 ozdried linguine
  3. 10 ozcan of clams, with juice
  4. 5 cloveminced garlic
  5. 1 cupdiced red bell pepper
  6. 6 slicecooked thick cut bacon with 1 tablespoon of bacon fat reserved
  7. 1 tbspolive oil
  8. 1 tbspbutter
  9. 1/2 tspred pepper flakes. Adjust amount to your preference of heat
  10. 4 tbspflat leaf parsley chopped. (Fresh)
  11. crispy topping
  12. 1/4 cuppanko bread crumbs
  13. 1/4 cupgrated Parmesan cheese
  14. 1 tbspreserved bacon fat, warm, still in liquid form

Cooking Instructions

    In large pot of salty boiling water cook linguine to package directions. Cook until aldente.

    In large skillet over medium heat add olive oil.

  3. 3

    Add into hot oil the pepper flakes, cooking for one minute to impart their flavor to oil.

    Add in red bell pepper and cook for about two minutes. Push them to the side in pan and add garlic.

    Cook garlic for 30 seconds, not allowing it to brown.

    Add in clams with their juice. Reduce liquid one quarter, add butter to finish sauce. Then add cooked, drained linguine.

    Toss in crumbled bacon.

    Toss in parsley and set aside off heat.

    Preheat oven to 375°F.

    In large casserole dish add linguine.

    Mix panko, cheese and bacon fat together making sure it doesn't clump. Sprinkle over linguine.

    Cook 10 or until cheese mixture turns golden brown.

    Serve nice and hot. Enjoy!

    SQUEEZE FRESH LEMON JUICE OVER AND OH MY, YUM!

    I read reviews and had the liquid only reduce for 1/4 instead of 1/2. Hope this keeps it moist and delicious for future cooks.:-)
