Habichuelas con dulce/Sweet cream of beans

This has been a favorite in dominican homes for the holidays! May sound a bit strange combining beans with milk. But trust me , it's our best dessert yet!

Ingredients

1 hour
8 servings
  1. 1 canof habichuelas/red kidneys beans precooked
  2. 1 canof coconut milk or coconut cream
  3. 3cinnamon sticks
  4. 1 cancondensed milk
  5. 2of cooked sweet potatoes
  6. 8sweet cloves
  7. 1 boxmilk cookies or animal crackers

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Finish cooking the beans in 2 cups of water with 1 cinnamon stick on medium heat.

    Transfer the beans into the blender and blend until smooth.

  3. 3

    Transfer the blended beans back to the pot and add the coconut milk, cinnamon, cloves, condensed milk and the sweet potatoes. Mix well and let it cook for 15 minutes longer.

    When its done take out the cloves and the cinnamon stick. Serve in a cup or bowl with milk cookies or animal crackers on top :)
