After the first time making this recipe I added the Lawrys™ original seasoning. The recipe is good without it, but not great-until adding Lawrys™! After adding Lawrys™ to the recipe WOW then it is a Perfect, satisfying side that goes with almost any entree'! :chef

Ingredients

25 mins
8 servings
  1. 4-5 large potatoes
  2. 3 cup+ shredded cheddar cheese
  3. 1 boxCream Cheese
  4. 3 tbspbutter or margarine
  5. 1/4 cupmilk
  6. 1/2 tbspOnion POWDER
  7. 1/2 tbspGarlic POWDER
  8. 1/2 tbspBlack Pepper - I use less for sensitive stomachs
  9. 1 tbspSalt
  10. 1 tbsp-3 (to your taste) Lawrys™ original seasoning
  11. 4-5 * strips cooked bacon (I cheat sometimes & buy REAL Hormel bacon bits (by salad toppings)
  12. 3-5 *stalks green onions (use how much you like- I like 3-4)

Cooking Instructions

25 mins
  1. 1

    Preheat oven to 425.

  2. 2

Skin potatoes, cut into chunks, add salt and potatoes to boiling water (like you are making mashed potatoes - I love to use my steamer (rice steamer +++). While you're waiting on potatoes...Microwave the cream cheese until slightly soft.

  3. 3

When you stick a fork in the potatoes, and they are soft (not quite mushy), drain 'em! Return them to the pot.

Add milk, pepper, onion powder, garlic powder,Lawrys™ seasoning, margarine, 2 cups cheese (saving the rest), bacon, green onion (chopped to about pea size) and the cream cheese.

Mash (I use a mixer) until creamy.

  4. 4

Get out a 9x13 baking dish. Grease. Pour the potato mixture in and spread evenly.

Add remaining cheese on top. If it doesn't look like enough, add some more. If you love cheese like I do-you want a nice even layer on the top.

  5. 5

Bake for about 30 - 40 minutes so cheese is beautifully bubbly and golden. Enjoy! sooo good!
