I visited my friend today and since she knows how to bake cakes she helped me bake vanilla cake using jiko and mawe Tatu. I was so happy because it was the first time I baked and the result was awesome. It was a very good experience baking using the jiko.

Ingredients

  1. 2 cupsall purpose flour
  2. 1 cupbrown sugar
  3. 3eggs
  4. 250 gmargarine / blueband
  5. 1 tspbaking soda
  6. 1 tbsvanilla essence
  7. 1 tspdrinking chocolate
  8. 1 cupmilk

Cooking Instructions

    Mix the flour with baking soda then sieve

  2. 2

    In a different bowl, Mix the sugar with margarine and mix with a spoon till finely mixed. (creaming)

    Add the sieved flour and whisked eggs to the creamed mixture then mix using an electric mixer or a wooden stick till the texture is fine and well mixed.

    Add milk, vanilla essence and drinking chocolate then mix again till you get a fine mixture.

    Heat a bigger sufuria over Jiko till very very hot.

    Grease a smaller sufuria with margarine then flour.

  7. 7

    Pour the mixture on the greased sufuria.

    Place 3 stones on the heated sufuria to balance the sufuria with the mixture

    Put the sufuria with the mixture over the the 3 stones

    Cover using a lid. Then add some hot charcoal over the lid.

    Let it bake for around 20-30mins

  12. 12

    Check when it's ready using a knife. If it sticks on the knife then it's not ready.

    Remove from jiko

  14. 14

    Serve
