Ingredients

  1. 200 gmargarine/butter
  2. 3/4 (1 cup)sugar
  3. 2large eggs
  4. Halfa cup of freshly squeezed orange juice
  5. Halfa cup of milk
  6. Halfa teaspoon of orange/chenza essence(optional)
  7. 2 cupsall purpose flour
  8. 2 tablespoonsbaking powder
  9. 1 table spoonorange rind
  10. Thinly slices oranges with some sugar to sprinkle

Cooking Instructions

    Prepare all your ingredients.

    Ensure the margarine is softened. Add your sugar and cream the two together until well incorporated.

    Once they are well combined, add your eggs one at a time while mixing in each egg.

    Add the orange juice,orange essence then finally milk and mix up completely.

    Prepare the dry ingredients, flour and baking powder.
    I add my first half of sieved flour to the liquid ingredients, mix and finish with the remainder.
    Lastly, add the orange rind and fold it in.

    Grease the baking pan.Sprinkle an even layer sugar on the bottom of the pan.

    Now arrange those orange slices neatly along the bottom and sprinkle some more sugar.

    Add in your cake batter and bake at 180 degrees for about 30-40 minutes.

    Check the readiness by putting in a skewer or toothpick.

    Serve:)
