Ingredients

  1. 250 gms(8 lemon)
  2. 3-4 tbspmustard oil
  3. 30 gmssalt
  4. 1/2 tspturmeric powder
  5. 1/2 tspred chilli powder
  6. 1/2 tspwhole black pepper
  7. 1/2 tspmustard seeds
  8. 1/2 tspkalonji
  9. 2-3 pincheshing

Cooking Instructions

    Wash and wipe the lemon dry. In a vessel let the water boil, once it starts boiling, add the lemon, cover with a lid, half-open till the lemon gets soft and little cracks are to be seen. Drain out the water completely and allow it to cool. Then cut into small pieces.

    Now add salt, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, crushed black pepper. Mix well. Now heat oil, crackle mustard seed, kalonji and hing. Put the seasoning in the lemon pickle.

    After 3-4 days lemon pickle is ready. Fill it in an air tight container and can be consumed till one year.

Dear mam, I want to know how this lemon pickle will preserve for a year if we boil it till it cracks a little as it gets in contact with the water?
