Kadha prasad is not just an atta halwa, there is something very divine about its taste. It is PRASAD that involves a lot of faith, devotion, unconditional love and pure service to God during its preparation as well as during the consumption. If you are looking for the same divine taste of this prasad as it's served in Gurudwara, prepare and consume it like a devotee.
In Gurudwara the devotees recite 5 Gurubaani- JAPJI SAHIB, JAAP SAHIB , TAV PARSAAD SAVIYAE, CHAOUPAI SAHIB and ANAND SAHIB during its preparation. But if it is too hard for you to recite them, you may simply chant 'Vaheguru' or the name of God / Saint you have faith in. That's what brings out in you that feeling of service, love and devotion. And those vibes turn a simple halva into prasad giving it the divine and unforgettable taste. Saying this out of experience.

Ingredients

30 min
1 bowl
  1. 1 cupchapati flour/atta/whole wheat flour
  2. 1 cupsugar
  3. 1 cupghee
  4. 3 cupswater

Cooking Instructions

30 min
  1. 1

Take sugar and water in a sauce pan. Use a sauce pan which has a handle as its helps to add sugar solution to the atta mixture in the later part of the recipe. Keep the pan on stove top on a medium-low to medium flame. Stir the solution so that all the sugar dissolves. Heat this sugar solution till it begins boiling. Switch off the flame.

  2. 2

Meanwhile take a heavy bottom pan and add 1 cup ghee. Wait till ghee melts thoroughly. Then add the flour. Combine well to get a lump-free mixure.

  3. 3

Stir and roast on a low flame. You will notice that the color of the flour change sas you keep on stirring and cooking it. Keep on stirring the flour to ensure even browning. The flour should have a shade of dark golden color and should have a nutty fragrance.

  4. 4

Now add the sugar solution to it very carefully as the mixure bubbles and splutters a lot. Add a little at a time. Mix and stir very well. Then add the rest of hot sugar solution. Continue to mix very well.

  5. 5

The mixture will thicken as it gets cooked and the color will also change. The halwa will start releasing ghee. Continue to stir non-stop and cook till the whole mixture becomes one mass and leaves the sides of the pan. Serve it hot of warm.

  6. 6

Treat it like a prasad and give a portion of it to your workers with a great sense of thankfulness.
