It is a spicy curry. Popular Maharashtrian dish. Moong vadi is made with yellow moong dal, sundried for min 3,4 days. Dried vadi can be store whole year. This is better option when there is shortage of fresh vegetables. This is spicy gravy goes with chapati or rice.

Ingredients

  1. 1 cupready sundried moong vadi
  2. 2onions
  3. 2tomatoes
  4. as required Ginger garlic paste
  5. as per taste Salt
  6. As Per Taste Red chilli powder
  7. as required Turmeric powder
  8. as per needMaharashtratrian Goda masala(garam masala)
  9. As RequiredCoriander leaves
  10. as required Oil
  11. as requiredCoriander powder

Cooking Instructions

    For curry- take a kadhai

  2. 2

    Heat oil

  3. 3

    Add finely chopped onions

  4. 4

    Add ginger garlic paste

  5. 5

    Add finely chopped tomatoes

  6. 6

    Saute for 5min

  7. 7

    Add salt,red chilli powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, Goda masala (garam masala)

  8. 8

    Mix well

  9. 9

    Add 2cups of boiling water

  10. 10

    Add moong vadi

  11. 11

    Cover and cook for 10min on low flame

  12. 12

    Sprinkle coriander leaves and serve with chapati,aamras and papad
