Ingredients

1 hour 20 minutes
4 servings
  1. 1 cupgovindo bhog rice
  2. 1 tablespoonghee
  3. 1/2 teaspoonturmeric powder
  4. 1 teaspoongaram masala
  5. 2 tablespoonsghee/oil
  6. 7-8cashews
  7. 1 tablespoons/ 12-15 raisins
  8. 3bay leaves
  9. 2 piecescinnamon stick
  10. 2cloves
  11. 2cardamom
  12. 1 teaspoongrated ginger
  13. 2 cupwarm water
  14. 1 teaspoonsalt
  15. 1 tablespoonssugar (as per taste)

Cooking Instructions

    First of all soak the rice for 15 minutes. After that strain it and take out in a plate. Dry it for 15 minutes.

    When the rice dry,add 1 tablespoons melted ghee and turmeric. Mix it well. add garam masala and mix it well.Keep it aside.

    Heat ghee or oil in a pan.Fry the raisins and the cashews in it.Take it out and keep aside. Add bay leaf, cardamom, cinnamon and cloves. saute for few seconds.

    Now add grated ginger or ginger paste and fry a little.Add the rice,stir gently to mix with the flavours. Pour 2 cups of warm water along with salt and sugar.

    Cover the pan with lid and cook the rice. stir in between.

    When the water dries up and the rice is well-cooked add the cashews and raisins.mix gently and cover the pot. Turn of the flame. Serve Basanti/ Mishti Pulao hot.
