Thecha is a traditional Maharashtrian chutney that is usually served as an appetizer with chapati, flat bread like jowar bhakri, bajra roti, thalipeeth etc.
It is also called Hirvi mirchi thecha in the local lingo.
For Paneer Thecha paneer is marinated with this spicy ,tangy chutney prepared with fresh green chillies, garlic, peanuts, coriander leaves with stems & lemon juice.

Ingredients

15 minutes
4 servings
  1. 250 gmspaneer cubes
  2. 7,8green chillies roughly chopped
  3. 8,10garlic cloves
  4. 1/2 cuppeanuts
  5. 1 cup cleaned coriander leaves with stems
  6. 2 tsp lemon juice
  7. Salt to taste
  8. 2 tsp oil

Cooking Instructions

    Heat a pan & dry roast the garlic, peanuts, green chillies for 2,3 minutes.Add salt to taste.

    Give it a stir,then switch off the flame & allow it to cook down.

    Transfer them in a mortal & pestle, add coriander leaves with stems & pound them, drizzle some lemon juice & mix them.

    Now coat all the paneer cubes with thecha & leave them for a few minutes for marination

    Now heat oil in a frying pan & sallow fry them till well brown on all sides.

    Serve the delicious, ta gy Paneer Thecha as an appetizer with any dip,mayonnaise, green chutney or tomato sauce.
