Ingredients

30 mins
12-serving
  1. 100 GramsGulab Jamun Mix
  2. 2 TablespoonsMilk Powder
  3. 300 GramsSugar
  4. 1 TeaspoonCardamom Powder
  5. to FryOil
  6. 300 MillilitresWater

Cooking Instructions

30 mins
  1. 1

Method for Syrup: Dissolve the sugar with 300 ml of water and allow it to boil, once it starts boiling, add cardamom powder. Keep it in medium flame for 10-15 minutes and the consistency of syrup should not be very thick. Then switch off the flame and keep aside.

  2. 2

Method of frying Gulab Jamuns: Take the Gits mix in a bowl and add milk powder and break the lumps with hands, mix well. Now make the dough by adding water slowly slowly. Do not knead the dough for long time and keep it aside for 10 minutes.

  3. 3

Divide the dough into 20-25 equal parts(depends on the jamuns size you want) and roll into small balls without cracks(you can apply ghee/oil on palms to make smooth balls).

  4. 4

Heat oil in a heavy bottom pan in medium flame and put a pinch of dough in the oil (just to check oil temperature),so if the dough slowly rises from the bottom to the top, then the oil temperature is prefect.

  5. 5

Now fry all jamuns in the same heat and while frying the jamuns rotate the oil frequently, it will help to make them color uniformly. Once the Jamuns are fried, put all in sugar syrup and close the lid, allow jamuns to soak for half an hour.

  6. 6

Now Gulab Jamuns are ready to serve. You can serve it warm or cold. I like to have it with one scoop of vanilla ice cream. Either way its yummy :)

People know me for my love for food. I love to cook for family and friends. I love to spoil family and friends by making special dishes and surprising them because it makes my day to see someone enjoying something that I made with love:). There's nothing quite like preparing a feast for appreciative friends, or creating a special meal for loved ones. I have no formal anything but I learnt a lot from my mum, mum in-law and grandmothers, they just dont measure anything with measuring spoons or cup measures, the skills are in their magical fingers :). The simpler the dishes the better for me, but I never compromise on taste! And I have so much more I want to share one of the great joys of cooking with all of you. Hope you all will like my food :)
