Ingredients

2 servings
  1. 1/2 cuprice
  2. 1/4 cupyellow moongdal
  3. 2 tbspurad dal
  4. 1small onion finely chopped
  5. 1small tomato finely chopped
  6. For tempering:
  7. 2 tbspoil
  8. 1 tspcumin seeds
  9. 1/4 tspturmeric powder
  10. 1-2red dry chillies
  11. 1/4 tspgaram masala
  12. 1green chilli finely chopped
  13. 1/2 tspgrated ginger
  14. Few curry leaves
  15. For garnish:
  16. SomeFinely chopped fresh coriander leaves
  17. To Serve :
  18. as neededGujarati kadhi

Cooking Instructions

    Wash and soak rice and dals for 1 hour.

    Finely chopped onion and tomato. Keep all ingredients required for tempering ready.

    In thick bottom pressure cooker, add & heat oil, do tempering of cumin seeds,add turmeric powder, chopped green chillies, grated ginger,dry red chilli mix and saute for 30 secs, add tomato and onion pieces, curry leaves and mix and saute till onion turns pinkish in colour.

    Add soaked rice and dals in it mix and add 2 glasses of water. Cover the cooker lid and pressure cook for 4-5 whistles. Let the cooker cool for 1/2 hour, before opening it's lid. Mix the prepared khichdi.

    Serve Hot Nutritious Delicious Vagerli Khichdi in serving bowl garnishing with chopped coriander leaves and relish with hot Gujarati kadhi.
