Ingredients

  1. 2 cupsrice
  2. 1 cupmoong dal
  3. 1small tomato
  4. 1small onion
  5. 10/12garlic cloves
  6. 5/6green chillies (spicy)
  7. 2tbspoon oil
  8. 1tbspoon desi ghee
  9. to tasteSalt
  10. 1/2tspoon turmeric powder
  11. 150 gmsspinach leaves
  12. Water
  13. 1/2tspoon cumin seeds, mustard seeds and asefoetida respective

Cooking Instructions

    Soak rice and moong dal for 30 minutes.blanch spinach leaves and make paste

  2. 2

    Cook soaked rice and dal smooth with two whistles in pressure cooker. allow it to cool.fine chop tomato, onion, green chillies and garlic cloves.

    Heat deep pan add oil to it add half of the chopped garlic, mustard seeds, cumin seeds and asefoetida.saute add onion and tomato saute.add turmeric powder

    Add cooked rice and dal to deep pan.mix well and water salt allow it to cook for more five minutes.add spinach paste to it.mix well and give one steam.

    Heat tadaka pan add cumin seeds,one red chilli and chopped garlic fry till golden brown.pour this tadaka on khichdi

    Serve hot with carrot slices and homemade curd.
