new picture for dinner bread :-P

It was the first time I had to cook fish, and I really didn't know what to make. So i try this, its really simple, and my family loved it! You can make a little fish sauce next to it , that's yummy!PS: If you cook this for dinner you can eat it with beans, rice and a nice tomato salad, like on the picture ;)

I started making this bread several years ago, and has always been a favorite at our dinner table. Really easy to make, and so yummy to eat!

Ribollita it is!It takes time and patience... but the result is one of the most delicious dishes, rich in history.This is the story of a saltless bread created as a protest (Florentines refused to pay salt taxes to the Pisans), the story of using whatever vegetables the garden offered at this time of year, the story of making use of every ingredient, and the story of resourceful farmers.The bread soup is reheated in a skillet (preferably cast iron) with a little olive oil and maybe a piece of prosciutto rind. A drizzle of good olive oil is a must, along with some fresh onion.

I remember seeing a recipe for this snack in my magazine that was geared towards grade schoolers. (Was that 30 years ago??)Ever since then, I've relied on this as an easy snack. My children love it. It's good to make when you're short on time.Once the sugar is added, it burns easily, so it just takes a quick stir and it's done.
