Ingredients

  1. 1 tbspvegetable oil
  2. 1/2 tspmargarine
  3. 1medium onion, chopped
  4. 1 tbspginger garlic paste
  5. 1/2 tspcinnamon powder
  6. salt and pepper
  7. 1 tspground coriander
  8. 1 tspground cumin
  9. 1/4 tspground turmeric
  10. 1/2 tspcayenne pepper
  11. 2tomato
  12. 1green chili
  13. 1/2 cupyogurt
  14. 1 cupwater

Cooking Instructions

    Boil the omena till soft. drain the excess liquid.

    Heat oil and margarine in a sauce pan over medium heat. Add onion and saute until very brown.

    Add in the ginger garlic paste and saute for an additional 2 minutes.

    Stir in the spices and cook over low heat until mixture is thick and has the consistency of a paste.

    Place the mixture into a blender and add in the tomatoes, chilies and blend until smooth.

    Pour the blended mixture back into the sauce pan, add yogurt a little bit at a time, stirring constantly to avoid curdling.and let simmer.

    Pour in the omena into the sauce and let simmer for 8 to 10 minutes before serving.
