Ingredients

  1. 10 cupsself raising flour
  2. 5 tbspmargarine
  3. 1 cupsugar
  4. Lemon rind (from 1 lemon)
  5. 500 mlmilk
  6. Oil for frying
  7. Lemon juice (from 1 lemon)

Cooking Instructions

    Sift the flour and sugar in a bowl.

    Melt the margarine and mix into the flour.

  3. 3

    Add the grated lemon rind and lemon juice and mix well.

  4. 4

    Add the milk and knead to create a soft dough. Leave to set for 15 mins.

  5. 5

    Divide the dough into small balls and roll out to about a ¼ inch thickness.

  6. 6

    Cut into desired shapes and deep fry in hot oil.

  7. 7

    Fry til both sides are golden brown.

  8. 8

    Serve with hot tea ☕ or chocolate.
