Biscuits

Flakes and tastes great. Batch can be multiplied but watch salt amounts. I use margarita glass to cut 2 large biscuits about 3/4 inch thick when it's for just my wife and myself. If you want 8-10 normal size, double the recipe.

Ingredients

  1. 1 1/2 CupFlour
  2. 1 TbspSugar
  3. 3/4 TspSalt
  4. 2 TspBaking Powder
  5. 1/4 TspCream Of Tarter
  6. 1/2 StickCold Butter
  7. 1Egg Beaten
  8. 1/2 CupMilk

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Preheat oven to 450 degrees.

  2. 2

Mix dry ingredients in a large bowl, whisk. I don't recommend using an electronic mixer for biscuits if you over work the dough at any step you will not have a flakey biscuit.

  3. 3

Knife in chunks of butter. Work it into the flour with a fork about 30 ish times, mashing and stirring. Forget what people say about making it pea sized.

  4. 4

Add egg and milk. Stir about 20 25 times, the outcome you want is flour moist and incorporated but still have chunks of butter.

  5. 5

Drop Dough onto a floured cutting board. Fold and rotate the dough toward you about 6 or 7 times. No more. Pat to about 3/4 inch thick.

  6. 6

I use a margarita glass to make 2 large biscuits, one for my wife and 1 for myself. (If you want to make 8-10 normal biscuits just double recipe)

  7. 7

I Bake these on a baking stone at about 450 degrees for 13-17 minutes.

  8. 8

    Enjoy!

. Check out my recipes as I add them. I bake, cook many types of food and I love to Smoke beef and pork. I use an offset wood smoker with an Bluetooth digital thermometer. If im feeling lazy I just go to my son's house and use his Traeger Grill. 😁 Fire and forget is boring LoL but yummy also. As the saying goes, " It's hot, brown and lots of it". I'm also working on a small cookbook for family. ❤️
