Today, I made an energy-boosting breakfast after returning from a trip to Phu Kradueng. I came back exhausted but had a great time. To recharge, I made this extravagant breakfast to enjoy.

I've already posted how to make Poached Eggs before this post, so you can check it out there.

Ingredients

40 minutes
1 person
  1. 7 ouncesground beef (about 200 grams)
  2. 2 slicescheese
  3. 2poached eggs
  4. 4 slicesbacon
  5. 1 pinchsalt
  6. 1 pinchground black pepper
  7. 1/2 teaspoonpaprika
  8. 1hash brown
  9. Burger sauce
  10. 1 1/2 tablespoonsmayonnaise
  11. 1 teaspoonmustard sauce
  12. 1/2 teaspoonhoney
  13. 1pickled cucumber
  14. 2 clovespickled garlic
  15. 4pickled chickpeas
  16. 1 tablespoonchopped cilantro and green onions
  17. 1/4 teaspoonblack pepper

Cooking Instructions

40 minutes
  1. 1

Fry the bacon until crispy and set aside (I forgot to take a picture after frying).

  2. 2

I've posted how to make pickled cucumber, pickled garlic, and pickled chickpeas before (you can use just pickled cucumber). Chop them coarsely, then mix all the burger sauce ingredients in a mixing bowl. Stir well, taste, and adjust seasoning as desired. Set aside.

  3. 3

Shape the ground beef into patties and flatten them. I make 2 patties. Then fry them, sprinkling salt and pepper on top. Cook each side for 2 minutes, pressing the meat flat against the pan with a spatula.

  4. 4

After the time is up, reduce to low heat. Place cheese on top, cover with a lid, and wait about 1-2 minutes for the cheese to melt (you can add a little water before covering to help the cheese melt faster). Then it's done.

  5. 5

Assemble the burger on a plate, placing 2 pieces of bacon on each cheese-topped patty. Drizzle burger sauce over the bacon, leaving about 1 teaspoon of sauce. Place a poached egg on the sauce, and sprinkle paprika and chopped green onions on the egg for garnish.

  6. 6

Place the hash brown on top, drizzle with the remaining burger sauce, and sprinkle a little chopped green onion. It's ready to eat.

  7. 7

When eating, cut the egg to let the yolk run out. It's delicious!
