Ingredients

12 pieces
  1. 3 cupsAll purpose flour
  2. 1 cupmilk/water
  3. 2 tspyeast
  4. 4 tbspnsugar
  5. 3 tbspnButter/margarine/veg oil
  6. 1/2 tspsalt (optional if using salted butter)
  7. Oil for frying
  8. 1 tspcardamon (optional)

    In a bowl 🥣,mix lukewarm milk,sugar and yeast and stir until all sugar and yeast dissolve.
    Set a side and cover with a kitchen towel to prove for 5 mins.

    In another bowl 🥣; combine flour, cardamon and salt, then add in your proven yeast mixture.

    Knead until you get a sticky mixture,then add in your butter as you knead.

    Transfer the dough to a working surface and knead for about 5 mins without adding any more flour.
    The results should be soft and moist but not sticky.

    Place the dough in a greased bowl and cover to rise or double in size for about 45mins/1hr.

    After it's well risen,punch down the dough to remove air then transfer to a floured working surface.

    Roll out the dough and cut out doughnuts shapes using a cookie cutter for round shapes and a nozzle in the middle.

    When done,cover doughnuts dough to prove for 25mins/double in size.

    Heat oil in a frying pan and fry your doughnuts in both sides until golden brown. Drain the excess oil in a paper towel/cooling rack.

    You can serve when plain/chocolate 🍫 glaze/sugar coat.
    For a drink ; milk was my choice 🥛.
