Cooking Instructions
- 1
Dicer onion and then dye your ham.
- 2
Melt the butter in the pot and add your ham and onion to it. Simmer for about 20 minutes.
- 3
I had a total of three cans of green beans so I drained two of them and kept the liquids in one. Add all of this to the onion and the ham. Stir and allow the summer for 30 to 40 minutes. Serve I hope you enjoy!!

Fried Green Beans with Ham & Radish Greens Fried Green Beans with Ham & Radish Greens
I recently went to a local farmer's market and acquired fresh locally grown green beans & radishes. I also recently acquired the knowledge that you can eat radish leaves! 😏 They are actually very nutritious and are similar to using spinach, kale, or any other greens. I had a few slices of ham left and figured why not throw it all together! 🤷🏻♀️👍 I accidentally used too much oil so this was a bit greasy this time but was still very yummy. It was gone before half the family could even get any and I had a few angry children that they'd missed out! 🤦🏻♀️😂 Next time I will definitely have to double the recipe for my large family! 👌 This makes a great side dish or appetizer, and even a delicious main course as well. 👏🤤 Chef Mommy Nessa -
Ham and Bean Soup Ham and Bean Soup
This isn't the most traditional way of making ham and bean soup but still has amazing flavor. I didn't use ham hock, ham shank or bacon which seems to be common. We used a homemade ham stock that we had in the freezer made from the bone of a spiral ham. For the ham chunks I used a combination of leftover ham from a holiday meal and the last bit of the ham I smoked this past summer. If you don't have smoked ham or double smoked in my case you can use a smoked turkey leg and let it simmer in the pot. Or even a drop or two of liquid smoke just to give the extra depth of flavor. Also used the dehydrated onion in place of fresh chopped because it seemed like it would just get lost in there. The only thing I might do differently next time is add spinach or another green to the party. jason williams -
