Shrimp in Black bean sauce

I went to a Chinese restaurant and my sister ordered the shrimp in black bean sauce and i though it would not taste delicious, to my surprise, it ended being the best tasting meal at our table. Ever since I've been craving shrimp in black bean sauce, so I went ahead and create my own and it turned out amazing. I love it and I even made it with chicken breast. I hope you will try my recipe and enjoy it as much.

Ingredients

2 servings
  1. 1/2 lbShrimp. I used uncooked jumbo shrimp.
  2. 1/2 tbspBlack bean and Garlic sauce
  3. 1 pinchSalt and Black pepper
  4. 1/2 tbspGranulated Sugar
  5. 1/2Yellow Onion diced
  6. 1 stalkSpring green onion chopped
  7. 1 tspcorn starch
  8. 2 tbspSoy sauce
  9. 1 tbspOlive or vegetable oil
  10. 1/2 cupBell Peppers

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Season shrimp with salt and pepper, Heat oil in a heavy bottom skillet and stir fry the shrimp for 30 second then remove from the pot and set aside.

    Add onions and cook until they start to caramelize

  3. 3

    Add black bean sauce, sugar and soy sauce sauce and let cook for a minute

  4. 4

    Mix corn starch into enough water to dissolve it and pure it into the black bean sauce

  5. 5

    Add you chopped bell peppers and shrimp that was set a side and let simmer for 3 minutes

  6. 6

    Serve over Jasmine rice or your choice of noodles.
