Ingredients

  1. 500 gmIdli batter
  2. For sambhar
  3. 1 cupsoak toor dal
  4. 1/2 tbspFenugreek seeds
  5. 3-4Green chillies
  6. 1Tomato
  7. 5-6Curry leaves
  8. 1Onion medium sized chopped
  9. 1/2bottle gourd cut in medium pieces
  10. 2brinjal cut in pieces
  11. 2Drumsticks
  12. 1 tbspTurmeric powder, red chilli powder
  13. 1 tbspCoriander powder garam masala
  14. 1 tbspMustard seeds and cumin seeds
  15. To tasteSalt
  16. 1/2 cup tamarind paste or water
  17. 2 tbspSambhar masala
  18. As neededWater
  19. as neededOil
  20. as neededCoriander leaves for garnish

Cooking Instructions

    Pour the idli batter in bowl mix it well and steam the idlis in idli cooker

  2. 2

    I had used readymade batter which can you easily get it on stores

  3. 3

    Now put the toor Dal, fenugreek seeds, green chillies, tomato and add some salt in cooker

  4. 4

    Add water and give 3 whistle

  5. 5

    Now blend the Dal and add keep it aside

  6. 6

    Now add oil in cooker and give the tadka of mustard seeds and cumin seeds

  7. 7

    Now add onion, bottle gourd, brinjal and curry leaves and saute for a minute

  8. 8

    Then add Dal and water mix it well

  9. 9

    Now add all masalas, tamarind paste or water

  10. 10

    At last add drumsticks and cover the cooker and give one whistle on medium flame

  11. 11

    Serve it with idli and coconut chutney

  12. 12

    And garnish with coriander leaves
