Cooking Instructions

Add the spices, sugar, and butter to the flour. Mix well it should look like sand when done I used my hands to really break up the butter and incorporate it in well.

Next add the olive oil.

Then the egg and water, now mix well.

Add the baking soda now then knead about 8 times. Heat the oil in a frying pan.

Ok this is how it should look. Break it up into 5 pieces and form ovals about the size of your hand.

Add the bread to the oil. It's going to absorb the oil when you turn it fry for 4 minutes. Add the butter when you turn it and fry for 3 minutes.

Move to the paper towel to absorb excessive amounts of oil. Serve warm I hope you enjoy!!!

You can say it's from tin or a can to me it's the same. When I was young around 4-1/2 to almost 5 years old my late granny had a boyfriend who worked cooking for logging camps. So when I got to go to my grannys house and he was there he would cook up some types of food. One of my favorite ones was eggs with Heinz 57 steak sauce or HP steak sauce. The yolks would be runny the whites done. It set it on a plate and give me buttered toast with a bottle of steak sauce, sometimes with sausage or bacon. I have that recipe on here too. Except the yolk aren't runny. It's called a sandwich full of memories. On a couple of occasions Benny would cook tinned or canned corn beef. He fried it crispy. Added to a bowl add some Heinz 57 steak sauce or HP steak sauce. Served it on toasted bread. Kinda like a sloppy Joe but not so sloppy. Sometimes you want something different. I love to eat spaghetti, Americanized goulash, cheesy beefmac, and so on. So I just put this 2 pot meal together. I don't know if anyone else eats this or made it before or something similar. It is an alternative to every- now-and-again dishes. When the children were growing up it was pretty much routine. Sunday; chicken and dumplings, Monday; spaghetti or American goulash, Tuesday; Hamburgers, Wednesday; Macaroni and cheese with hotdogs; Thursday; frozen pizza and tater tots, Friday; fish, or fast food if we could afford it, Saturday; sandwiches and salad.So when I got around to cooking myself I haven't wanted to get into routine meals. I wanted to let my imagination and God's inspiration lead me to making different recipes. Whatever is in my heart and if I can get the ingredients I try to cook. This is one such meal.
