Puff Pastry Puff Pastry
This originally started with me wanting to make arlettes and palmiers but not really being motivated to buy puff pastry from the store. I got a day off work and decided to give it a try. It turns out to be a lot of fun to do and you get a much better pastry than the store bought one.You definitely need a french rolling pin for working the butter. Whether or not you need a pastry scrape depends on how hot your kitchen is. It's been a chilli winter for me so I didn't actually use mine.Puffy pastry is best used the day you make it but you can keep it in a Tupperware container for a few days in the fridge. Chris Jordan -
Our Family's Easy Mentaiko Spaghetti Our Family's Easy Mentaiko Spaghetti
I don't like to use cream or butter in my cooking. This mentaiko pasta recipe uses top quality mentaiko from the region where it originated, northern Kyushu, and highlights its flavor to the fullest without using a frying pan. This easy pasta recipe is a firm family favorite. The only point is to mix your favorite type of mentaiko with extra virgin olive oil to make the sauce. No cream is added. If you are increasing the amount of mentaiko and spaghetti, add a small amount of olive oil. Recipe by Risa papa cookpad.japan -

Taisen's cheese bruschetta Taisen's cheese bruschetta
I didn't have much here to really work with to make myself something other then a light snack. I also didn't have fresh basil or garlic cloves. I used what I had on hand to make these and use up the rest of my bread, my last tomato and onion. This is what I ended up with along with some croutons I made. Recipe for those later! I liked this BUT it definitely needed more garlic and fresh basil would have made it better. Still enjoyed it though! taisen76 -
Salted Shortbread Cookies with Olive Oil Salted Shortbread Cookies with Olive Oil
I created this recipe for my nephew, who has food allergies. With a lot of trial and error, I tried to imitate the taste of the shortbread sold at a Japanese confectionery shop in my hometown. At the time, I didn't know about Cookpad, so I had to experiment a lot. These shortbread cookies should be light-colored, so please adjust the cooking time and temperature according to your oven to make sure they don't burn. Definitely try to use extra virgin olive oil. The flavor will make you feel like olive oil is a kind of juice. Recipe by Barumako cookpad.japan -

Pasta Pomodoro Pasta Pomodoro
While my family and I are true-blue carnivores, even we have our limits. Having enjoyed way too much meat the last week, we decided it was time for something a little lighter. Since it'd also been ages since we had a nice Italian-style pasta, I chose to cobble this dish together using techniques from a few different recipes. It worked out perfectly. Robert Gonzal -
