Bacon and Shimeji Mushroom Stew Bacon and Shimeji Mushroom Stew
I wanted to eat something creamy, so I adapted a soup recipe to create a stew. If I have leftovers, I like to add milk to it for a breakfast soup.If you coat everything well in flour in Step 2, it shouldn't become lumpy. If you use less flour, it'll be more like a soup. You don't have to make the white sauce in a separate pan, so it's really convenient. Recipe by Garumeri cookpad.japan -

Here in the South during the Civil War time's in order to eat, civilians and soldiers alike would boil peanuts and they would eat them to keep from getting malnutrition. Peanuts are actually a bean and is high in protein. So here is a Southern favorite originated from necessity, with my version of it. Green peanuts are just a way of saying raw peanuts. skunkmonkey101 -
Vegetable Stew Vegetable Stew
I used my left over vegetables . One egg plant was gone half bad, used my frozen tomatoes , and add a can of black beans. You can use any can of legumes ( chickpeas , white beans, but lentils would not be a good idea, )if you don’t want to use oven you can use same pot to cook if you are too lazy or have no time. . I think putting then to oven make taste better. Rae -

Quick, Light & Refreshing Mushroom Stew (slow cooker Shashouka) Quick, Light & Refreshing Mushroom Stew (slow cooker Shashouka)
I wanted something light for lunch and had some mushroom. There was also this Shashouka recipe staring at me so, I fried the mushrooms, added some simple spices and threw it into the slow cooker for less than 2 hours. Give it a shot too! I did not have a can of crushed tomatoes; instead, I had leftover tomato paste and some fresh tomatoes so, I modified using both instead and I preferred it to be a little sweeter (sweet tooth be damned!) so, added some honey/syrup. Traditionally, it has eggs in it. We served with leftover roast chicken. Marsha M -
Three Sisters Stew Three Sisters Stew
The three sisters. The native American people made mounds to grow their food. The corn grew tall. This allows the beans to grow upward like on a pole. The squash leaves covers the ground not allowing weeds to grow as easily. Also produced nitrogen so the plants grew in harmony. This was the staple crops that fed millions of people throughout their existence. skunkmonkey101
