Macrobiotic Kurumabu and Vegetables Broiled in Sweet Miso Macrobiotic Kurumabu and Vegetables Broiled in Sweet Miso
This is a main dish that is macrobiotic. When steaming, add water if there is not enough moisture. Since the kurumabu are not soaked before cooking, they will absorb the liquid when steaming. Stir from time to time to balance flavors. The kurumabu are ready when just their centers are left slightly chewy. Recipe by Mille=miru cookpad.japan -
My Go-To Dish Sweet & Sour Chicken for Chicken Lovers My Go-To Dish Sweet & Sour Chicken for Chicken Lovers
Since my son loves karaage, and I'm a big fan of sweet and sour pork, this was a compromise that became our family's go-to dish.I played around with the seasoning. Sometime I'll get around to making a regular recipe. My son hates vegetables and will eat the karaage up before they're seasoned, so I flavor the chicken for a thicker taste. You can make this if you have any leftover chicken karaage. When adding the sweet vinegar sauce, mix well since the katakuriko tends to settle at the bottom of the bowl. For 3 servings. Recipe by chaccoco cookpad.japan -
Sweet Potatoes Candied in the Rice Cooker Sweet Potatoes Candied in the Rice Cooker
My kids had started to ask for daikaku imo ("university" potatoes) but I always used to think it would be too much work. One day I told my friend about it and she taught me this recipe. Whenever we get some sweet potatoes we make this. There aren't any hints in particular. Just put it in the rice cooker, and you can do other things while it cooks. This is great for people who are really busy and don't have much time to cook. It's not a main dish maybe... Recipe by nyagomi cookpad.japan -

Sweet and sour pork Sweet and sour pork
I am a big fan of our local mall's sweet and sour pork. Mainly because of the meat, which they keep separate from the sauce until you order. This guarantees crunchy, juicy meat every time. So of course, I do the same with mine. Robert Gonzal
