cookpad.japan @cookpad_jp
This is an easy-to-make macrobiotic snack.
There's not much to it, except to wait for plenty of steam to rise before steaming, or else the bread will not rise properly.
Try adding 2 teaspoons unsweetened cocoa or kinako. You can fill these with raisins or sweet potato, too. Recipe by Mille=miru
Cooking Instructions
- 1
Combine the beet sugar, soy milk, and oil. Mix well, then add the sifted flour and baking powder. Mix thoroughly, then fill aluminum cups or muffin tins with the batter up to about 80% to the top.
- 2
Place in a steamer that's steaming vigorously. Steam for about 10 minutes, then they're ready. (The time it takes to steam may depend on the size of your steamer.)

Macrobiotic Brown Rice Bread
I've only recently started eating brown rice after starting my macrobiotic diet, but I don't really like it on its own so much, so I tried making bread with it instead. Top it with soy cheese and it becomes even more yummy!I'm a bit all over the place so when I found out I didn't have enough strong flour for this recipe, I just tried adding some whole wheat flour that I had on hand. The only reason I added shredded coconut was because it was there. The guidelines for the proving process are also pretty lax and approximated. This results in a thick and heavy bread that leaves your stomach feeling satisfied.Slice it before freezing to store, and you'll be able to enjoy delicious toast whenever you're hungry. Macrobiotic Steamed Nagaimo Yam and Amazake Bread
I think macrobiotic recipes look unappetizing in general, but I wanted to make a delicious macrobiotic snack with ingredients available on hand! I came up with a wonderful, slightly sweet and rich steamed bread. It tastes best fresh out of the oven.○You can increase the sweetness by using sweet rice sake instead of regular sweet sake. 4 tablespoons of beet sugar is a bit sweet, so please adjust the amount to suit your tastes.○I used baking powder that doesn't contain aluminum as an active ingredient. Use regular baking powder if you don't have any.○You can substitute brown sugar or dried fruits for the nuts. You can also skip them if you like. Recipe by miki21

Gluten-Free Fluffy Rice Flour Steamed Bread
My 17 month old has a lot of allergies, including flour. I wanted him to be able to enjoy a fluffy bread so I've been trying out various recipes.Using ideas from various recipes, I finally settled on this.Place the muffin cups into the steamer while it's piping hot, and heat them while the water is boiling. Don't open the lid while they are steaming. If you are unable to eat dairy products and will be using soy milk, I think you should add a little bit more than the recipe states? Recipe by choco110

My eldest son loves chocolate but hates strawberries, and my younger son loves strawberries more than anything else, so I came up with this really easy recipe that would be a compromise to their preferences. This only takes 15 minutes: 3 minutes to prepare the ingredients and 12 minutes to steam. Use any fillings you like and enjoy for breakfast on busy mornings. You could also use cake flour instead of rice flour, and milk instead of soy milk. Recipe by TandT

I love whole wheat flour! They're good as is, but they're also delicious if you eat them with unsweetened peanut butter, honey, etc. For a macrobiotic diet, I recommend using Shirakami yeast and rice syrup! Just Mix: Macrobiotic Banana Bread
I had over-ripe bananas, so I came up with this recipe to use them up before they went off. Easy and Simple Microwaved Steamed Bread
I wanted to try out an easy recipe to make steamed bead for my friend who can’t eat egg or dairy. Now it's turned into my breakfast staple. In step 1, combine the dry ingredients well. You don’t have to measure exactly, don't worry too much about small differences. In Step 2, try not to mix the batter too much otherwise you won't get a fluffy bread.Be careful to adjust microwaving times with your machine at home. You can also add matcha powder or kinako soybean powder for variety. Oatmeal & Kabocha Squash Steamed Bread

Simple Fluffy and Chewy Steamed Bread
I wanted to create a quick breakfast. After adding the flour, mix the batter with a spatula, taking care not knead or over-mix.The firmness of the batter will change with the addition of jam, so make sure to add just a little milk (the recipe says 1 teaspoon, though the amount required depends on the consistency of the jam). Easy & Chewy Oil-free Steamed Bread
I knew how to make oil-free steamed bread, so I made a chewy version. You could use juice or coconut milk instead of milk.To get the marbled effect, when the dough is done, fill all the muffin cups halfway. Mix in a tablespoon of cocoa powder (or instant coffee or matcha) to the remaining batter and pour into the half-filled muffin cups. Drag a toothpick through the batter to swirl the two batters. If it's a bother, you can just make two different types of batter without the marbleized effect. Recipe by nathu

Steamed Bread with Rice Flour
Steamed bread made with rice flour instead of wheat flour makes bread that doesn't go hard as quickly, so I recommend this method. After a few experiments I tried adding more sugar to this recipe to improve the flavour. When steaming the bread, please make sure the steamer is steaming before adding the bread.Steaming the bread over high heat will give them a nice texture. You can make 4 muffin cups instead if you'd prefer. in that case, steam them for 15 minutes. Microwave Steamed Rice Flour Bread

Oatmeal and Corn Steamed Bread
This recipe is a variation of the"Oatmeal Cinnamon Steamed Bread." Steamed Bread with an Almond Aroma
I wanted to make sweets using Chinese apricot kernel flour other than almond jelly. To enhance the sponginess, I used katakuriko and soy milk, but it is also tasty with just flour (increased to 100 g), and using regular milk. These are low in sugar, since almond powder is sweet.Steam must rise from the steamer or else the buns won't turn out fluffy. The buns puff up in aluminum cups more nicely than in paper or silicon cups. It's best not to fill the baking cups too much with batter. I recommend filling them about 70%. For 10 buns [to fill small aluminum baking cups]. Recipe by Minori105

Basic Bread Dough
Since I'm making it myself, I want to have a rich pastry dough. Bread baked with this dough is delicious on its own. A very elegant bread dough.Be sure to give it plenty of time to rest (this helps you shape it easily). This dough is relatively high in moisture, so I think it's easy to handle. Bake at high temperatures for a short period of time. That'll give you a fluffy, crisp texture. Recipe by Yukiline

Basic Bread Dough

Chewy Steamed Bread
I had leftover snow cone syrup and leftover pumpkin paste and wondered if I could use these up in the steamed bread. It is hard to mix the mayonnaise and water, so I recommend adding a small amount of water at a time. Personally, I mix them all at once even though it is hard to do. Either ways would make the bread fluffy and chewy. Also, you will not taste the mayonnaise at all, so don't worry. Toasted Barley Flour (or Soybean Flour) Steamed Bread, Made in the Microwave
I thought of this as a snack for my soon-to-be 2 year old nephew. It's also a memo for me.Step 1 can be done using a food processor. In Step 3, if the batter still looks raw after 2 minutes in the microwave, microwave it for another 30 seconds to just under a minute. Please monitor the state of the bread as it cooks. If the bread is overcooked, it will harden as it cools, so please be careful. If making small breads, please cook them for 2 minutes. Recipe by miyuki12
