Chocolate cakes are really one of my most favourite things to bake. I bake them super moist, light and super yummy. I have two great recipes on chocolate cake but I will post the oil based first cos it's easy breezy and anyone can follow the procedures and still make mouth watering chocolate cake

Ingredients

60mins
6-8 servings
  1. 260 gFlour
  2. 400 gSugar
  3. 50 gCocoa powder
  4. 1 cupButtermilk
  5. Egg 2 (@room temperature)
  6. 2 teaspoonsBaking soda
  7. 1 teaspoonSalt
  8. 2 teaspoonFlavour (vanilla)
  9. 1 cupBoiled water
  10. 1 cupVegetable oil

Cooking Instructions

60mins
  1. 1

In a baking bowl, whisk the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda and salt, Next break in the eggs one after the other and whisk...

  2. 2

Add the vanilla flavour to the buttermilk mix well and pour into the mixing bowl and keep mixing...

  3. 3

Next pour in the vegetable oil, mix well till the oil blends in very well lastly, you pour in the boiled water, and whisk everything well till you get a smooth and running consistency with the batter.

  4. 4

Your baking pan must be well butter and lined with parchment paper..., pour the batter into an 8inch baking pan. Place in the oven. Please always allow the oven to be on and heating up at least 10mins before the cake enters to be baked.

  5. 5

Bake with moderate heat for at least 40min...and if by chance the top isn't properly baked by then, reduce the heat to avoid the cake drying out, then cut out foil paper and cover the top of the baking pan to help the top of the cake bake quicker but without drying out.

  6. 6

Once cake is ready, turn cake over on a baking rake and allow to cool,... slice a great big chuck and enjoy with a nice white chocolate dip or on it's own just like we did with your favourite beverage
