Iced Cafe au Lait Made with Instant Coffee

cookpad.japan @cookpad_jp
Everyone loves my hot cafe au lait, so I tried making an iced cafe latte.
The instant coffee is microwaved for quite a long time with little water, which makes it smell like expresso. I tried to recreate Starbucks' cafe latte! Recipe by Keikon2008
Cooking Instructions
- 1
Pour the water into a wide-rimmed cup, then add the instant coffee but don't mix.
- 2
Microwave for 40- 60 seconds at 600 W. It should smell of coffee.
- 3
Put the ice and milk into a glass.
- 4
Pour the coffee onto the milk, and it's done.

Cafe Au Lait Coffee Flavored Mushipan (Steamed Bread)
Don't you sometimes just want to eat a grown-up flavored steamed bread? I was always thinking about making something like that, but didn't quite go through with it. With this combination of ingredients you can enjoy them with your children too. If you love coffee, you can add more to make it even more bitter. This is a simple and basic recipe, so please add your own variations and have fun.I added richness by using light brown sugar. Just like plain steamed bread, make sure not up over mix it, be sure to use a cloth, and please steam at a high heat. Please make sure to dissolve the coffee well. The size of each steamer varies from store to store, so place that in a pot, civet with a plate, and you should be good to go.(Recipe by Shirufi-)

Easy and Delicious! Instant Iced Cafe au Lait
An award-winning bartender once taught me how to make a delicious whisky and soda. I applied the same techniques to a cafe au lait made with instant coffee, and it was really tasty. The key is to mix the ice until the glass becomes cold. If you occasionally shake the glass so the coffee touches the ice, it will chill more quickly. Recipe by 239

Iced Cafe au Lait with Black Tapioca
I was thinking of a nice chilled dessert, and came up with the idea of using tapioca. Ordinary iced cafe au lait is transformed into a little dessert! There are many ways to rehydrate tapioca, but it's summer and I didn't want to stand over a hot stove, so I tried putting them in an electric hot water pot a thermal keep-warm function. The ratio of iced coffee to milk is 1:1. If you make the coffee strong, you'll end up with a nice cafe au lait which won't be overwhelmed by the milk. Recipe by drip coffee

Summer Staple Cafe-style Iced Cafe au Lait
This is perfect for those times when you want to go to plop down at a cafe, but can't. It's so delicious that you'll just keep adding milk to the cubes and gulping it down.If you use coffee that dissolves easily, you don't have to use boiling water and it's faster to make. You can omit the sugar and then add syrup later.Modify the recipe as you like, to enjoy a cafe-style drink in the comfort of your own home. Iced Coffee
Mixture may separate quickly, use a straw or swizzle stick to stir as you enjoy. Also, you may add unsweetened flavorings such as Chocolate or Peanut Butter. Also, may be garnished with unsweetened Whipped Topping.

Not-so-instant iced coffee
I used to work in a fancy coffee shop, and being college aged, I don't have a bunch of coffee-related appliances around. So, I combined my knowledge of artisan coffee with the complications of making it at home and came up with this recipe!

Warm Honey and Cinnamon Cafe au Lait
I wanted a different spin on my usual cafe au lait and sprinkled cinnamon that I had just bought and it was great.・Mix in the cinnamon before adding the hot water, to prevent clumping.・As for the bitterness of the coffee, alter it to suit your preferences. Milky Kuromitsu Cafe au Lait
I often used to drink hot milk with kuromitsu, and wondered what it would be like with cafe au lait. I made it and it was delicious.I like milky coffee, so the recipe lists a generous amount of milk. Adjust the amount of coffee, boiling water and milk to your liking. Recipe by A-jin

Foamy Cafe au Lait
Marshmallows can be used to make all sorts of treats. I wanted to use them in a hot drink, but just adding them on top was too mundane...so I wondered what it would be like if I melted marshmallows?I wondered if I could put this foaminess to use, and came up with this recipe. When melting the marshmallows, do not take your eyes off the microwave whatever you do!Just mix very very well. The more you mix the foamier it gets, so just keep mixing. Recipe by A-jin

Iced Coffee at Home
I always use a specialized cold-brew pot to make iced coffee, but I use this recipe when I'm making a large amount or when I'm at my parents' house.Making your own iced coffee is better for the environment, since you won't have to waste a plastic bottle.(With the specialized cold-brew pot, you don't even need tea bags!)It takes 8 to 10 hours for tasty coffee, so I recommend setting it up before you go to bed, or before leaving your home in the morning. If you use only 1 empty tea bag, the coffee grinds may leak out. You may want to use the second bag to cover the first with the opening at the other end, strain the coffee through a strainer, or transfer it to another container through a tea strainer. Quick peppermint cafe au lait (no froth)
Over the holidays I wanted a little peppermint flavor in my morning coffee. I didn't have any flavored syrups on hand, but I had a jar of peppermint candies on my counter. So I dissolved one of the candies in my coffee and it worked beautifully! It's lightly sweet with just enough mint flavor to spice up your morning coffee. It can be made ahead of time and chilled to enjoy in the afternoon too, or for the next morning to warm up again. Enjoy!

Milk Coffee Cream
I've listed a recipe for milk coffee before, but the recipe that I always referred to disappeared. This time I've successfully completed an original recipe, so I posted it.If you decrease the amount of milk to 400 ml (which makes the amount warmed in the pot to be 300 ml) the cream becomes a little harder, so I recommend using it for cream bread or something. Then you should use 70 g of sugar. While heating, it becomes easier to burn so make sure to stir continuously. When you take it off the heat, quickly pour it into a metal tray and cover with wrap. If you don't have a metal tray, an aluminum bowl is fine. If you can, chill the bottom of the tray with ice water and the cream will cool faster. Recipe by Muuko

The Golden Ratio for Instant and Delicious Café au Lait
I tried simplifying my recipe for café au lait, and it turned out super delicious!Use milk with a high fat content!Don't mix the instant coffee when you add it! After enjoying some hot chocolate, I came up with this recipe. I've had this dessert before in fancy cafes or hotel lounges. If using instant, I recommend one scant tablespoon to 50ml hot water. Adjust the amounts to taste. Recipe by Kyocchin
